Week 2

8. This image’s focus is a bauble on the same xmas tree in post 7. I used the Juno filter so that the tree lights were sharp and they stand out more. I used #merrychristmas to communicate a xmas message.

9. This image was taken of a new air pistol. I took this image because I like to have a “mouldy fruit shoot out” target practice with my Dad and brother. I created this shot using a diagonal split of the frame between the block paving and the gun and grass in the bottom right of the image. I used the Hefe filter because I liked the way it brought out some of the colours and textures. I think my hashtags communicate the fun of countryside sports well.

10. I took this shot because the North Face is one of my favourite brands. The image has my brother in the centre of the frame. I did not use a filter. I used the hashtag The North Face to draw attention to the brand. I think this communicates the message.

11. I took this photo at my grandma’s tea table with the xmas tree lights in the background. I used my new telephoto lens to create the bokeh with the coke can in focus as the main subject because I like coke. I did not use a filter for this image. I included the #cocacola to advertise my favourite drink.

12. I captured this image in my bedroom because I had noticed that my xmas tree lights with the fan behind them made the image look like a contemporary flower sculpture (with the fan as petals and the tree branches and lights as the stamens.) The subject draws the eye from the left of the image and the negative space in the top right corner helps draw attention back to the coloured lights. The contrast between the bright colours and dark makes this an effective shot. I did not use a filter on this image because I preferred the image without. I don’t think my hashtags were not very inspiring for this shot. I should have used something like #fun or #xmassculpture

13. I took this image to send the message that I got a new telephoto lens for xmas. The image has the lens in the centre of the frame. I used the vignette effect to add some atmosphere to the shot and make the lens look as if it was in the spotlight. I used the #zoom but on reflection it would have been better to include the word “lens” or “camera” or “Nikon.”

14. I took this image of my bedroom wall to send the message that I love art and graffiti. The graffiti is in the centre of the image. I used the vignette effect to highlight the graffiti writing. I used the # graffiti and #graffiti4hire to advertise the companies work. I think the hashtags communicate the message well.
